Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing AR Specialist to support accounts receivable and medical billing operations on a contract basis.

This role will focus primarily on AR management, insurance follow-ups, cash posting, and general billing tasks, helping reduce outstanding balances and improve reimbursement timelines.

This is a hands-on execution role ideal for someone with strong U.S. healthcare billing experience who is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage medical accounts receivable (AR)

• Perform insurance follow-ups on unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims

• Handle cash posting and payment reconciliation

• Review EOBs and ERAs for accuracy

• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and denials

• Communicate with insurance providers as needed

• Maintain detailed billing notes and documentation

• Support general medical billing tasks as assigned

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing standards

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing and AR

• Strong understanding of:

  • AR aging workflows

  • Insurance follow-ups

  • Denials management

  • Payment posting

• Experience working with U.S.-based healthcare payers / Telehealth industry

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health, ABA therapy, or similar healthcare specialties

• Familiarity with payer portals and clearinghouses

• Prior experience in a remote or contract-based role
