Salary: $5 – $6 per hour, depending on experience

Scope of Work / Responsibilities

The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of billing and insurance claim management for Little Tesla Pediatric Therapy. This includes preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently resolve billing discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims for pediatric therapy services.
• Review claim submissions for accuracy and completeness.
• Contact insurance companies to verify claim status, identify missing information, and correct errors as needed.
• Resubmit denied or rejected claims promptly.
• Post payments and adjustments accurately in the billing system.
• Maintain up-to-date patient and insurance records.
• Generate reports on claim status, collections, and outstanding balances.
• Communicate effectively with the internal team regarding billing updates and payment issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and company information at all times.

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience working as a medical billing specialist or virtual assistant in a healthcare setting is required.
• Experience with therapy practices (physical, occupational, or speech therapy) is a plus.
• No medical degree or license required, but knowledge of insurance processes and terminology is essential.

Basic Requirements

• Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly.
• Must have relevant work experience in billing or insurance claims management.
• Must be able to submit an NBI Clearance or Local Police Clearance background check upon request.
• Must be available for video meetings with your camera on.
• Must have no other clients during required work hours.

Technical Requirements

• Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 10 Mbps).
• Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
• Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.
• Workspace: Quiet, professional environment.
