The Role

As a Market Development Representative (MDR), youll serve as the critical bridge between our marketing efforts and the sales team, playing a pivotal role in accelerating our revenue pipeline. You will be responsible for meticulously following up on, nurturing, and qualifying all inbound leads generated from our diverse marketing channels. This role is fundamental to ensuring our sales team engages only with the most promising and well-prepared prospects.

In this position, youll act as the first point of contact and a trusted educator for potential customers. Your mission is to understand their initial interest, assess their business needs, and articulate the value of our solutions. You will manage the crucial early stages of the buyers journey, building rapport and filtering for high-potential opportunities before seamlessly transitioning them to an Account Executive for closing.

This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and articulate professional who thrives in a fast-paced, goals-driven environment. You must be an expert at active listening and managing a high volume of conversations. Youll be a key member of the go-to-market team, providing invaluable feedback to Marketing on lead quality and campaign resonance, directly contributing to the alignment and success of our entire revenue engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly (Calls, Email replies) to all inbound leads generated by marketing activities (content, webinars, social campaigns, events, etc.).
  • Qualify marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) to determine sales readiness and fit.
  • Nurture leads through in-depth conversations, acting as an educator and partner rather than focusing solely on immediate conversions.
  • Provide detailed feedback to both sales and marketing teams regarding lead quality, content effectiveness, and channel performance.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to execute outreach cadences and follow-up strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of lead interactions and qualification status in CRM systems.
  • Occasionally perform cold outreach as needed, but with a primary focus on inbound requests.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between sales and marketing, sharing insights on customer preferences, pain points, and objections.
  • Help refine marketing messaging and targeting by relaying feedback from lead interactions.
  • Ensure only well-qualified leads are passed to Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) or Account Executives (AEs), improving sales efficiency and conversion rates.

  • Helpful, but not required: 1+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or a customer-facing role. We will train the right person.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with prospects.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation tools.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Success Metrics:

  • Speed and quality of lead follow-up.
  • Conversion rate of MQLs to sales-qualified opportunities (SQOs).
  • Quality and usefulness of feedback provided to marketing and sales.
  • Contribution to pipeline and revenue growth from marketing-generated leads
