Job Description

A Logistics Officer is a key role within the supply chain and logistics sector, responsible for the management, planning, and coordination of logistical functions within a company or organization. As a Logistics Officer, you will be tasked with ensuring the availability of necessary materials, the efficient movement of goods between locations, and the timely delivery of products to clients or customers. Your efforts will directly impact the company’s operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the transportation of goods across national and international borders.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure that accurate stock levels are maintained consistently.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve logistics operations efficiency.
  • Liaise with suppliers and clients to ensure seamless supply chain processes.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all logistics-related activities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and transport companies to secure favorable rates and terms.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant logistics and transportation regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to enhance order fulfillment accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze logistics data to recommend improvements and optimize processes.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints related to logistics and services promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forecast budget needs and help in cost-reduction strategies to enhance profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience in logistics or supply chain management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software and transportation management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
