Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator is a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods from suppliers to customers. This position involves managing and coordinating supply chain processes through various communication and systems to ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost-effectiveness. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transportation process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and tackling any issues that arise during transit. The role demands excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. By streamlining logistics and ensuring efficiency, you will contribute directly to the success and growth of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time product delivery and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track shipments and reduce transportation costs.
  • Prepare and update shipment documentation, such as transportation manifests and customs paperwork.
  • Oversee the organization’s inventory to ensure an adequate supply of products on hand.
  • Analyze and report logistics performance metrics to improve operational efficiency.
  • Resolve any transportation and logistical issues that may arise swiftly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations and standards.
  • Negotiate with vendors and carriers to secure the best possible rates and service levels.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders to support the organization’s logistics needs.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar logistics or supply chain role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software systems and inventory management tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively analyze logistics data and workflows.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and partners.
  • Capability to identify and resolve logistical and supply chain issues efficiently.
