Landscape Designer

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a talented Landscape Designer to support their design studio from overseas. If you love creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces and you’re confident working independently with a high level of detail, this role is for you.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Sydney, (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality 2D and 3D landscape designs
• Turn client briefs into clear, buildable concepts
• Prepare planting plans, finish schedules, and design documentation
• Update and refine designs based on client or manager feedback
• Assist with material research and design inspiration boards
• Prepare drawings for estimating and construction teams
• Communicate with our clients Design Manager via email, Zoom, and Slack
• Keep projects organised, on time, and consistent with the brand and standards

Requirements

• Strong design skills and a good eye for aesthetics
• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Lumion, or similar design software
• Strong understanding of interpreting survey information and designing for sloped and complex sites in both 2D and 3D
• An understanding of modern Australian-style gardens and landscape design aesthetics
• Understanding of general landscape layout, planting, and construction principles
• Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work to set design frameworks
• Excellent English communication
• Someone reliable, proactive, and detail-obsessed
• Relevant & recent design experience working with high-end residential projects
• Strong computer literacy and a reliable internet connection

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Environmental Design, or related field
• Proven experience preparing 2D and 3D design presentations (portfolio required)
• Experience working with international clients (preferred but not essential)
• Familiarity with Australian plants, materials, and construction standards (bonus—training provided)
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, surveys, and architectural drawings

• This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
