Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Local SEO Specialist to support our team by executing and maintaining Local SEO and GEO-focused SOPs. This role is ideal for someone who understands the fundamentals of local SEO and enjoys following documented processes, completing tasks accurately, and supporting senior SEO strategists.

You will work directly from established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent implementation across client accounts.

Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $10.00 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

Local SEO & GEO Implementation

• Execute Local SEO and GEO SOP tasks as assigned
• Assist with Google Business Profile (GBP) optimization, including:
• Updating business information
• Adding services, categories, and descriptions
• Posting updates and uploading images
• Implement on-page local SEO updates on service and location pages based on provided instructions
• Conduct local keyword research and GEO modifiers as outlined in SOPs
• Support citation building and cleanup tasks (NAP consistency)
• Assist with review management processes, including monitoring and response drafting

Content & Data Support

• Implement SEO-optimized content updates following provided guidelines
• Upload, format, and optimize blog posts and local pages in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
• Refresh existing content using provided instructions and checklists
• Assist with internal linking updates based on SOPs

Reporting & QA Support

• Collect and organize data for local SEO reports
• Track rankings, citations, and GBP insights using assigned tools
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure SOP tasks are completed correctly
• Flag issues, inconsistencies, or optimization opportunities for senior team members

Requirements

• Basic to intermediate understanding of Local SEO concepts
• Familiarity with:
• Google Business Profile
• Local citations and NAP consistency
• GEO modifiers and local keyword intent
• Experience working from SOPs, checklists, and documented processes
• Comfortable using tools such as:
• Google Search Console (basic)
• Google Sheets / Docs
• WordPress or similar CMS
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
• Reliable communication and task management skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior experience as a Virtual Assistant or SEO VA
• Experience with local SEO tools such as BrightLocal, Whitespark, or Semrush
• Basic understanding of on-page SEO (title tags, meta descriptions, headings)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted content tools for updates and optimization
• Experience working with service-based local businesses
