Job Description

An IT Application Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of our software applications. This position involves assisting end-users with technical issues, analyzing applications, and ensuring optimal functionality within our IT infrastructure. As an IT Application Support Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing problems, implementing solutions, and proactively managing application updates. You will work in concert with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and provide critical insights into user experiences. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential in delivering high standards of service and support.


Responsibilities

  • Provide tier-1 and tier-2 support for resolving application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address application problems.
  • Manage application configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on application configurations and resolutions.
  • Assist in the deployment of new applications or updates to existing software.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of application-related issues.
  • Monitor application performance metrics and provide timely reports for reviews.
  • Train end-users on application functionalities and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Interface with vendors and external technical support teams for issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures during problem resolution.
  • Participate in the testing of updates and enhancements before deployment.
  • Develop and execute strategies for improving application support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in application support or IT support roles.
  • Proficiency with ticketing systems and IT service management tools necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with non-technical users and stakeholders.
  • Experience with SQL, scripting languages, and database management preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based applications and platforms would be advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail highly required.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
