Interior Design Assistant

Client Overview: Join a growing residential interior design practice specializing in modern homes and high-end remodels. This designer works with clients who are building custom homes and need expert visualization to bring their dream spaces to life. You’ll be part of projects from initial concept through final installation, helping clients see exactly how their spaces will look and feel.

Job Description: You’ll be the technical backbone behind beautiful residential spaces, combining your CAD expertise with 3D visualization skills to help clients fall in love with their future homes. This role puts your design and technical skills front and center—you’ll create the renderings that sell projects, develop the floor plans that guide construction, and handle the detailed work that makes great design possible. Starting part-time gives you flexibility while building toward a full-time opportunity in a growing practice.

Job Highlights

• Hourly Rate: USD 8, the equivalent in your local currency
• Paid Hours per Week: 20
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM-5 PM, EST
• Work Arrangement: Work from home
• Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities:

• Create stunning 3D renderings showing different material options for exterior and interior spaces
• Develop detailed floor plans and technical drawings using CAD software
• Plan optimal furniture layouts and space configurations for residential projects
• Import and enhance existing CAD plans for visualisation and client presentations
• Design compelling presentation materials using Canva and similar tools
• Communicate with vendors regarding specifications, timelines, and quality standards
• Follow up on vendor deliveries and resolve quality issues as they arise
• Support multiple residential projects from concept through completion
• Collaborate directly with the principal designer on project strategy and execution

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in CAD software for technical drawings and floor plans
• Proven experience with 3D modelling and rendering applications
• Solid understanding of residential space planning principles
• Excellent English communication skills for client and vendor interactions
• Portfolio demonstrating CAD work and 3D visualisation capabilities
• Bonus if you have Chief Architect experience
• It helps if you have formal interior design or architectural background.
• You bring experience with design presentation tools like Canva
• Remote work experience and ability to work independently
