Job Description

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety standards and regulations are strictly adhered to within the organization. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and recommending corrective actions. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. You will be instrumental in creating a safe and healthy environment for all employees by promoting a proactive safety culture. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance with legal safety standards and ensuring that safety measures are regularly updated and communicated across the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs across all departments.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety training sessions and workshops for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine causes and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety issues and enforcement actions in a detailed manner.
  • Collaborate with management to develop safe operational procedures and policies.
  • Provide expert guidance on Health, Safety, and Environmental management practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance and submit to leadership monthly.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures periodically to ensure authority guidance.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the organization through effective communication strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop feasibly safe solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective trainings and reports.
  • Certification in Health and Safety management, such as NEBOSH, is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
