Job Description

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Advisor is a critical role within any organization, dedicated to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This position involves advising on, coordinating, and implementing the necessary practices and procedures to reduce potential risks related to Health, Safety, and Environmental issues. The HSE Advisor plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, fostering compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. The successful candidate will work closely with management and staff across various departments, providing expertise and support in all health and safety matters. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can effectively manage multiple tasks and communicate clearly to a diverse workforce.


Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conducting thorough inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Advising management on necessary improvements to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Leading investigations into health, safety, and environmental incidents or accidents.
  • Coordinating with departments to identify potential health and safety hazards.
  • Delivering training sessions and workshops on health, safety, and environmental topics.
  • Monitoring and analyzing data related to workplace safety performance indicators.
  • Ensuring all safety equipment and machinery meet safety regulations and are maintained.
  • Preparing and submitting detailed reports on health, safety, and environmental metrics.
  • Staying updated on legal and regulatory changes impacting the industry and workplace.
  • Promoting a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management among employees.
  • Collaborating with external agencies and regulators during audits or inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.
  • Proven experience working as an HSE Advisor or similar role in industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental laws and practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to educate and advise personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent occupational health and safety credentials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software solutions.
