Our organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team on a 12-month contract. The HSE Advisor will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring a safe and compliant workplace environment in line with industry regulations and our company’s policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective HSE policies, procedures, and systems to minimize risk. They will also be involved in advising management on HSE matters, conducting risk assessments, and leading training initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication abilities to ensure the organization adheres to safety standards and fosters a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections to identify hazards.
• Advise management and staff on safety compliance and best practices.
• Investigate incidents and accidents to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on HSE performance and incidents.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions and workshops for staff.
• Ensure the organization adheres to relevant legal and regulatory HSE requirements.
• Collaborate with external regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
• Monitor and analyze HSE performance indicators and suggest improvements.
• Manage the distribution and use of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness organization-wide.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in HSE advisory roles or similar positions.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Certified in relevant health, safety, and environment management systems preferred.
