Job Description

The role of a Housekeeping Supervisor is pivotal in ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation of facilities, such as hotels, resorts, and other hospitality environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of housekeepers to maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will develop work schedules, conduct regular inspections, and ensure that all cleaning tasks are executed efficiently. The position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for guests. With this role, you will be integral in upholding the standards of both service and quality in the housekeeping department.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping staff effectively.
  • Develop and maintain effective work schedules for the housekeeping team.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with standards.
  • Provide training and support to housekeeping staff to enhance performance.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and effective operations.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs for replenishment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to housekeeping staff regularly.
  • Implement and uphold health and safety standards within the housekeeping department.
  • Address and resolve any guest complaints related to housekeeping services promptly.
  • Prepare and submit reports on the department’s operations and performance metrics.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and adherence to environmental practices and policies.
  • Monitor and ensure proper usage of cleaning materials and tools by housekeeping staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in housekeeping is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping role, preferably in a supervisory position.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to influence and direct staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with staff and guests.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper storage and disposal methods.
