About the Role

A premier luxury resort and marina in the Bahamas is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join their remote finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage end-to-end accounting operations for a high-end hospitality business while working from anywhere in the world.

This role is full-time (40 hours/week) with flexible scheduling and potential for growth into a more senior finance position. You will be responsible for managing the general ledger, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and supporting month-end close and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and all transaction postings
   
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
   
• Maintain clean and organized financial records
   
• Prepare trial balances and post journal adjustments as needed
   
• Manage prepaid schedules and recurring journal entries
   
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
   
• Prepare internal financial reports for management review
   
• Collaborate closely with internal finance staff and cross-functional teams
   
• Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance as required
   
• Continuously identify process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
   

Qualifications

• Proven experience with QuickBooks Desktop (or similar accounting software)
   
• Familiarity with hospitality-focused accounting platforms such as CloudBeds preferred
   
• Accounting degree or equivalent professional experience
   
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
   
• Fluent in English for internal communication (non-client-facing)
   
• Ability to work independently across time zones and manage priorities
   
• Comfortable navigating dynamic priorities, tight deadlines, and month-end close cycles
   
• Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
