Job Overview

Join a private healthcare practice led by a licensed nurse practitioner as a Healthcare Bookkeeper. In this remote role, you will initially focus on a high-priority cleanup of books for tax filing before transitioning into ongoing financial management. It is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to independently manage financial records and directly support a growing medical practice.


Schedule

  • Flexible daily scheduling is permitted, provided there is some operational overlap with the Pacific time zone (40 hours per week)


Responsibilities

  • Tax Filing Cleanup: Prepare and organize historical financial records for tax filing purposes as the immediate operational priority.
  • Ongoing Ledger Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping records and general ledgers on a continuous basis.
  • Transaction Tracking: Manage day-to-day financial transactions, expense logging, and structural bank reconciliations.
  • Document Categorization: Ensure all financial documentation, receipts, and invoices are properly categorized and stored.
  • Reporting Support: Support the business owner with recurring financial reporting and internal record-keeping requirements.


Requirements

  • Bookkeeping Background: Proven professional experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and financial record management.
  • Accounting Software Literacy: Practical proficiency operating QuickBooks or highly similar cloud accounting software.
  • Tax Foundations: Strong understanding of standard small business tax preparation, formatting, and general compliance requirements.
  • Autonomy & Workflow Habits: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks independently without direct daily supervision.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within healthcare facilities, clinical settings, or private medical practices is considered a strong asset.
  • Familiarity executing bookkeeping workflows specifically for small private practices or service-based businesses.
