Job Description

The General Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of the organization. This position is responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and supporting management in making informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments. Working as part of the finance team, the General Accounting Analyst will contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulations and standards. Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and discrepancies for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to GAAP standards.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure accurate data gathering and reporting.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes with detailed account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with auditors during financial and operational audits to provide necessary information.
  • Facilitate the improvement of internal controls to enhance departmental efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of financial processes and systems enhancements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand causes of deviations from budgeted amounts.
  • Participate in financial planning and analysis activities to support strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as required by management or other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
