Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial health of the business. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, organized, and confident managing financial processes independently.

Job Highlights

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm UK time with one hour of unpaid break

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Handle accounts payable and receivable
• Monitor outstanding payments and support credit control
• Prepare CIS and VAT returns
• Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Support budgeting and audit preparation
• Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls
• Supervise and support junior finance staff

Requirements

• Strong experience with QuickBooks
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience managing AP/AR, VAT, and reconciliations
• Strong Excel and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role
