Job Description

The Facilities Associate is responsible for supporting the efficient operations of a facility, ensuring that the physical environment is maintained to the highest standard possible. This role involves a combination of manual tasks and strategic planning to ensure operational continuity and safety. The position acts as a crucial team member in facilities management, providing support through various tasks such as maintenance, repairs, inventory management, and assisting with events or special projects. The ideal candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating with various departments to address and fulfill requirements swiftly. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections to identify potential facility maintenance needs promptly.
  • Coordinate and assist with repairs and maintenance tasks within the facility.
  • Maintain efficient communication with vendors and service providers for facility needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring availability as needed.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down events, meetings, and other special projects.
  • Document and report on maintenance, repair activities, and any facility-related issues.
  • Perform janitorial tasks such as cleaning, waste disposal, and ensuring sanitary conditions.
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives and monitor facility utility usage effectively.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and contribute to disaster preparedness plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to address and resolve facility concerns.
  • Stay updated on the latest safety and facility management practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required, associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are essential.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various maintenance tools and equipment safely.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in facilities management.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
