Ductwork Estimator

Job Role Summary/Overview

The Client is seeking an experienced Ductwork Estimator to support a new contract with a specialist ductwork and ventilation company. This role is critical and requires immediate availability, with proven hands-on experience in ventilation and ductwork take-offs and estimating.

The successful candidate will work closely with the estimating and preconstruction team to deliver accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for mechanical and ventilation projects.

Job Highlights

• Paid Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, Flexible within clients business hours | GMT
• Work Arrangement: Work from home
• Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed ductwork and ventilation take-offs from construction drawings and specifications
• Produce accurate cost estimates for ductwork, ventilation systems, materials, and labor
• Review drawings, plans, and tender documents to identify scope, quantities, and potential risks
• Assist with tender submissions and pricing breakdowns
• Identify discrepancies, omissions, or value-engineering opportunities
• Liaise with internal teams and clients to clarify scope and requirements
• Maintain organized estimating files, spreadsheets, and documentation
• Meet tight deadlines and support fast-paced project requirements

Requirements

• Proven experience in ductwork and ventilation estimating and take-offs (essential)
• Strong understanding of HVAC, ventilation, and ductwork systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Experience using estimating and take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or similar)
