Dispatcher Operations Coordinator

Job Role Summary/Overview

You’ll be the operational backbone of a dynamic logistics company, working directly with the founder to streamline operations and build scalable systems. This isn’t just a dispatching role – you’re joining at the ground floor of a company with massive growth potential, where you’ll help shape processes, manage critical driver relationships, and play a key role in scaling operations from 5 trucks to hundreds. You’ll start by managing 2 owner operators and grow your responsibilities as the fleet expands.

Job Highlights

• Hourly Rate: USD 5, the equivalent in your local currency
• Paid Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM-4 PM | Chicago (Central Standard Time)
• Work Arrangement: Work from home
• Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch trucks and coordinate logistics operations across the United States
• Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, ensuring on-site compliance and delivery requirements
• Manage Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping documentation with precision and attention to detail
• Coordinate ETAs and maintain clear communication with brokers and clients
• Handle email communications and phone calls with freight brokers professionally
• Track and trace shipments throughout the delivery process to ensure smooth operations
• Work with load boards and logistics software platforms to optimize freight matching
• Support the transition from manual tracking systems to digital operational workflows
• Collaborate directly with the founder on operational decisions and process improvements
• Help build scalable systems and processes as the company grows exponentially

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in logistics, dispatching, or transportation operations
• Strong understanding of US logistics markets and freight rates
• Excellent communication skills for phone and email interactions with brokers and drivers
• Experience working with load boards and logistics software platforms
• Ability to work Eastern Time zone hours with flexibility
• Administrative skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple trucks/loads simultaneously
• Bonus if you have experience with freight coordination and broker relationships
