This role reports directly to the CFO and oversees the AP/AR, Payroll, and accounting teams.

A B O U T T H E R O L E:

We are a California-based beauty, fashion, and wellness brand seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting while designing and maintaining a strong internal control environment. This role is responsible for audit readiness, financial statement preparation, cash management, and optimizing the monthly close process.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in establishing internal controls, audit readiness, and financial reporting, with demonstrated leadership experience and a hands-on approach to driving financial discipline and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

W H A T Y O U ’ L L D O:

• Establish and implement internal controls to support audit readiness and financial accuracy.

• Lead the design and management of a structured monthly close process and calendar, with a goal of reducing close time while maintaining accuracy.

• Oversee financial statement preparation, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting principles.

• Manage external audits, working closely with auditors to streamline processes and improve internal efficiencies.

• Develop and enforce system controls within NetSuite to ensure proper financial oversight and mitigate risk.

• Strengthen cash management and treasury operations, including optimizing the cash collection cycle and forecasting cash flow.

• Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights that support business growth and decision-making.

• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting with a focus on data integrity and transparency.

W H A T Y O U B R I N G:

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leadership and team management roles.

• Strong foundation and hands-on experience applying GAAP accounting principles.

• Experience in retail and consignment operations strongly preferred.

• Public accounting experience or internal audit background strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and audit processes.

• Experience managing financial close processes with a proven ability to improve efficiency.

• NetSuite expertise, with the ability to optimize and enhance system functionality.

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor teams. • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining financial discipline.
