Job Overview

Our client is looking for a financial and administrative cornerstone for their dynamic construction business. In this role, you will take ownership of bookkeeping operations while helping streamline project management processes. This role offers the unique opportunity to build systems from the ground up, work closely with leadership, and grow alongside a company that values long-term partnerships. You’ll handle the full spectrum of financial operations while supporting the day-to-day administrative needs that keep construction projects running smoothly.


Client Overview

Join a growing construction company that’s been building momentum for the past 1.5 years in the competitive San Diego market. After learning from early challenges, they’re now focused on implementing robust systems and processes to scale efficiently. You’ll work directly with the business owner to establish the financial backbone that supports their construction projects and long-term growth.


Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting for construction projects, including invoices, expenses, and financial record-keeping
  • Track project-specific financials by organizing invoices and expenses within individual construction jobs
  • Process and organize email communications related to invoices and expenses, inputting data into CRM and project management systems
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports (every 3-4 months) and comprehensive year-end financial summaries
  • Provide general office management and administrative support to streamline daily operations
  • Assist with phone communications to US-based clients, vendors, and subcontractors when required
  • Support project management tasks related to financial documentation and tracking
  • Help implement and optimize new software systems and CRM tools as the company scales


Requirements

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, for US-based business interactions
  • Solid experience with bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and project management software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple construction projects
  • Bonus if you have construction industry experience or familiarity with subcontractor relationships
  • It helps if you’re experienced with construction management software and project-based accounting


Side Note

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
