Construction Accounting Specialist

Overview

Our client is looking for a Construction Finance Manager to oversee their financial operations and project accounting. In this role, you will own both day-to-day bookkeeping and higher-level financial planning for a fast-growing real estate development company specializing in high-end spec home builds and fix-and-flip projects. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate syncing between Buildertrend and QuickBooks Online while maintaining precise job costing, budgets, and cash flow visibility across multiple ongoing projects.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Upper Saddle River, NJ Time

Responsibilities

• Manage QuickBooks Online: transaction entry, reconciliations, chart of accounts, monthly financial statements, and reporting.
• Oversee project budgets and schedules in Buildertrend, ensuring alignment with QuickBooks.
• Track job costing, WIP, project profitability, and cash flow for multiple ongoing projects.
• Prepare periodic reports for management and assist with forecasting.
• Maintain organized financial records across Google Drive and Excel.
• Collaborate closely with the owner and construction team on financial planning and project execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction industry accounting (job costing and project tracking required).
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor certification is a plus).
• Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction management platforms.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Drive.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable.
