Your Role

As a Commercial Analyst for a fast-growing Australian wellness apparel brand, you will serve as the analytical backbone of strategic decision-making. Working closely with the Sydney-based Founder, you will transform complex data into actionable insights through an AI-first approach.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze contribution margins (CM1, CM2, and CM3) at SKU and channel level to identify and resolve margin leaks such as high-return variants and freight inefficiencies.
• Track marketing performance across Meta, Google, and Klaviyo, monitoring ROAS, CAC, and customer acquisition mix to identify shifts in business performance.
• Develop customer cohort models and LTV analysis to assess retention trends and channel-driven long-term value.
• Forecast inventory demand across approximately 550 SKUs to optimize reorder points, safety stock, and working capital efficiency.
• Implement an AI-native reporting approach by integrating Claude (Anthropic AI) into dashboards for natural language data querying.
• Build financial models and weekly flash reports to evaluate product launches, pricing changes, and cash flow requirements.

Required Experience and Skills

• 4 to 6 years of experience in a Commercial Analyst, Business Analyst, FP&A, or e-commerce analytics role.
• Direct experience with a DTC, e-commerce, or retail business — ideally in fashion, apparel, beauty, or wellness.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, with the ability to build financial models from scratch.
• Strong understanding of unit economics, including CM1/CM2/CM3, CAC, LTV, payback period, and blended vs. channel ROAS.
• Hands-on experience pulling and analyzing data from Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and Klaviyo.
• Experience building dashboards using Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools — particularly Claude — and a track record of using them to improve work quality and efficiency.
• Excellent written English skills, with experience preparing reports, commentary, and recommendations for leadership stakeholders.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently across time zones.

Nice to Have

• SQL skills or willingness to learn quickly.
• Experience with the Anthropic API, Claude Projects, or AI-enabled workflows.
• Experience with inventory planning tools or WMS/OMS systems such as Pipe17, Logiwa, NetSuite, or Cin7.
• Previous experience scaling a brand from low to mid eight figures.
• Familiarity with Australian e-commerce, freight, or import/duty considerations.

What This Role Is Not

• Bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, or BAS lodgement.
• Customer service or order processing.
• Purchase order execution or supplier coordination.
• Hands-on Shopify merchandising or Klaviyo email building (you will analyze outputs, not produce them).
