Job Description

As a Civil Engineer with the designation 10N25, you will be an integral part of a team that designs, constructs, and maintains infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. Your expertise will contribute to the planning and execution of projects from conception through to completion within a designated timeline and budget. You will work closely with architects, surveyors, and contractors, delegating responsibilities to ensure that objectives are met efficiently. Your role will demand precision in calculations and compliance with safety and government regulations to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects. Collaboration, innovation, and sustainability will be key components in addressing engineering challenges, enhancing project outcomes, and providing leadership in technical solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and oversee construction projects from conception to completion stage.
  • Prepare and review engineering designs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects efficiently.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to determine project specifications and requirements.
  • Manage project budget and resource allocation effectively within established limits.
  • Supervise construction laborers and oversee the construction process to ensure quality.
  • Assess environmental risks and develop strategies to mitigate project impact.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with current codes and regulations.
  • Perform risk management assessments to reduce project risks effectively.
  • Provide technical advice and solve problems on-site, as required.
  • Compile and present project progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure project completion on time and within the prescribed budget and quality parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil engineering project management.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for designing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide viable solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly recommended or required.
