Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant (Construction & Facilities Management) to manage accurate financial records, project-related expenses, and day-to-day bookkeeping for a federal and state infrastructure construction company. This role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting experience, attention to detail, and familiarity with construction or property management accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations
• Ensure the General Ledger is accurate and up to date
• Assist in tracking costs for construction and facility projects to ensure budget compliance
• Provide payroll support and ensure accurate labor cost allocation to specific jobs
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with year-end financial statements
• Organize and maintain financial records, receipts, and contracts for easy retrieval and audit readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is required
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience
• Experience in construction or property management sectors is highly preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
• Basic understanding of or willingness to learn Federal and State contracting requirements

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an Independent Contractor, the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates, and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
