Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Certified Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on AP/AR experience, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, remote environment.


Job Highlights

  • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST (1-hour unpaid break) – 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Enter accounts receivable receipts and process customer payments (50–100 transactions per week with varying complexity)
  • Process accounts payable invoices and verify EDI-connected transactions against system expectations
  • Set up weekly payment batches for management approval (15–20 payments per week)
  • Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Support month-end processes and financial reporting
  • Verify EDI amounts agree with expected system postings before processing
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Controller and CFO


Requirements

  • Certified bookkeeper with solid accounting fundamentals
  • MUST HAVE A WINDOWS OS COMPUTER
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision/Business Central preferred (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ability to handle varying transaction volumes and seasonal fluctuations
  • Experience with EDI systems and integrations is a plus

Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional pay rate is based on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
