Client Overview:

The client is a community run, non-denominational, industrial kitchen where meals are prepared for distribution to needy people across Sydney. Last 2023, they made 250,000 meals that were distributed to disadvantaged Australians.


About the Role:

A nonprofit kitchen raises funds through team-building cooking sessions and group events, helping support its mission to serve the community through food. The organization is seeking a Business Developer & Marketer who can drive awareness, increase bookings, and build meaningful relationships with community organizations, schools, and corporate partners.


The ideal candidate is both creative and strategic, someone who can plan and execute outreach campaigns, identify partnership opportunities, and craft compelling stories that inspire organizations to book sessions.


Job Highlights

  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break | Australian Eastern Time
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase event bookings and brand awareness across social media and community channels
  • Identify and engage target audience segments such as corporate teams, schools, and community groups
  • Create and execute outreach campaigns through LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and email marketing
  • Write engaging copy and visuals that promote team-building cooking sessions and their social impact
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline, track leads, follow-ups, and client responses
  • Collaborate with the events and kitchen team to customize proposals for potential clients
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular progress updates
  • Represent the organization professionally during meetings, calls, and presentations


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Development, Communications, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in business development, marketing, or partnerships, preferably in events, hospitality, or nonprofits
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to generate leads and convert prospects through social media or direct outreach
  • Experience using LinkedIn and Instagram for professional networking and campaign management
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple outreach efforts simultaneously
  • Passion for community engagement and social impact initiatives
