Job Overview

You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy for a technology company during an exciting period of growth. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being integral to supporting accounting operations that keep critical infrastructure projects running smoothly. You’ll work with modern cloud-based systems and have the opportunity to grow with the business as they expand their operations.


Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $5.00 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM GMT (1-hour unpaid break) - 40+ hrs/week

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor


Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations in Xero
  • Update and maintain general ledgers and journals with precision
  • Manage accounts payable processes including invoice processing and approval workflows
  • Handle day-to-day expense management and processing
  • Maintain accounts receivable records and track outstanding payments
  • Flag and follow up on overdue invoices to optimize cash flow
  • Process complex project-based invoicing with multiple supplier relationships
  • Support the accounting team and provide coverage during staff transitions
  • Keep integrated accounting systems (Xero and Simpro CRM) up to date with accurate financial data


Requirements

  • Strong experience with Xero accounting platform (essential)
  • Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Understanding of general ledger maintenance and journal entries
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong attention to detail
  • Bonus if you have QuickBooks certification or equivalent accounting software experience
  • It helps if you have experience working with international clients
  • It helps if you have experience with integrated CRM and accounting systems
