Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper — preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) — who has experience or a strong willingness to learn about medical or dental clinic accounting and California state laws. The ideal candidate is proactive, independent, and a fast learner who can manage daily bookkeeping tasks, ensure compliance with California tax regulations, and assist in transitioning from general bookkeeping to tax preparation.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | Flex time | 6 hours on Mondays and Fridays, 4 hours on Tuesdays and Thursday | off on Wednesday
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Ensure compliance with California state tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the transition from standard bookkeeping to tax preparation and filing processes.
  • Prepare financial reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
  • Support medical/dental billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial entries.
  • Collaborate with management to improve financial workflows and record-keeping systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and client-related information.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter and fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly.
