Our client is a Melbourne-based manufacturing company specializing in truck parts and metal fabrication. They offer comprehensive fabrication capabilities including laser cutting, brake press, and molding services.



Job Overview

This is a part-time remote accounting position requiring 20 hours per week with potential to expand to full-time as the business grows. The role involves managing full-cycle bookkeeping, financial record maintenance, and administrative support for a manufacturing operation. The company is currently transitioning from QuickBooks to Xero, requiring hands-on support during the migration process.



Schedule

  • Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM AEST Australian Eastern Standard Time



Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers in accounting software Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Reconcile bank statements and perform data reconciliation tasks Handle invoice entry, purchase order creation, and invoicing
  • Manage email correspondence and general administrative tasks
  • Prepare financial documentation for tax lodgement and compliance requirements
  • Support the transition from QuickBooks to Xero accounting platform
  • Process payroll and perform tax calculations Ensure all books are properly maintained and audit-ready



Must-Have Requirements

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in both QuickBooks and Xero accounting software
  • Knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping processes
  • Strong data entry and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills



Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Previous experience working with Australian companies
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
