Job Overview

You’ll serve as the financial backbone for multiple clients, managing their books with precision while navigating Australian tax requirements. This role offers an excellent blend of technical responsibility and professional growth, providing exposure to multiple platforms and add-on tools while working alongside an experienced, supportive team.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment supporting diverse clients and accounting systems where your expertise directly impacts financial accuracy and compliance.


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Australian Eastern Time, with 1 hour unpaid (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries
  • Process Australian GST and BAS requirements accurately and on time
  • Maintain financial records using Xero and MYOB accounting systems
  • Learn and adapt to client-specific accounting add-on software
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and reporting standards
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and provide client updates
  • Process transactions and perform account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities


Requirements

  • Proven experience with Australian tax compliance, including GST and BAS
  • Strong proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting platforms
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software tools
  • Bonus: Payroll processing experience
  • Helpful: Experience working with accounting software add-ons


Side Note

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
