Job Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Data Processor with a degree in Accounting or Business and proven experience in tax or consulting environments—preferably with exposure to Australian tax practices. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Excel, skilled in managing large financial data sets, and comfortable using accounting software to support internal teams with data processing, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.


Job Highlights

  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM with 1 hour unpaid break | Australian Eastern Time
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and validate large volumes of financial and accounting data
  • Reconcile spreadsheets, financial records, and reports to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Perform data entry and maintain thorough documentation in line with professional service standards
  • Support regular reporting cycles, including month-end closing and tax-related data compilation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support financial analysis and compliance initiatives
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in data processing or accounting support roles
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations and compliance practices
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning)
  • Experience with accounting or BI tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or Power BI is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, deadline-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience in a professional services or tax consulting environment is preferred
