JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Working Hours: Full-Time 40 hrs/week

Work Shift: PH time -EST overlap

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a new role open in our team for an accounting analyst. You will spend your day exporting sales and sales tax data from our POS system, parsing, filtering and summarizing key data strings, and preparing various accounting and financial reports based on this data.You will also prepare daily journal entries based on the summarized data, and reconcile the impacted GL accounts to our POS system. To excel in this role you need proven accounting knowledge and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Exporting sales and sales tax data from the POS system to Excel.
• Parsing, filtering, and summarizing key data in Excel.
• Preparing accounting and other required reports and projections based on the summarized data.
• Preparing daily Journal Entries based on the summarized data.
• Reconciling GL accounts to the POS system.
• Communication and follow up with tax analyst regarding discrepancies in exported data.
• Documentation of daily and monthly export processes and any related discrepancies and their resolution.
• Coordinating with other members of the accounting team, such as the tax analyst and controller
• Additional GL account reconciliation as needed.
• Ad hoc reporting based on exported POS data upon request.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
• Proven experience in accounting.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
• Proven teamwork abilities.
