Accountant Finance And Operations

We are looking for a full-time Accountant to handle daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and financial reporting. You will prepare budgets and forecasts, support fundraising and audits, ensure Canadian tax compliance, and manage revenue recognition for financial markets transactions. The role also involves improving accounting systems and integrating PDF-based reports. Candidates must have a degree in Accounting/Finance, 2–5 years of full-cycle experience (ideally in startups), and familiarity with SaaS metrics. CPA, Canadian tax knowledge, and financial markets experience are strong pluses

Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $5.00 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Schedule: 40 hours/week Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm Pacific Time (1 hour unpaid break)

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking.
• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and investor reporting.
• Support fundraising, due diligence, and audit processes.
• Implement accounting systems and streamline workflows.
• Provide insights on cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Assist with PDF-based financial report generation and integration.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax requirements and assist with filings.
• Handle revenue recognition and reporting for financial markets transactions.
• Must be able to work from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm pacific time zone

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA a plus.
• 2–5 years of full-cycle accounting or finance experience, ideally in startups.
• Comfortable with SaaS metrics, subscription models, and growth-stage reporting
• Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations and filings a plus.
• Experience with financial markets revenue recognition a plus.
• Knowledge of PDF report integration tools a plus.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in tax compliance or filing experience
• Experience in financial reporting and complex accounting principles or regulations
