Real Estate Financial Analyst

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst with experience in real estate financials and accounting. This role supports financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting across property portfolios, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights for decision-making.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with property management systems and collaborating with accounting and operations teams during Central US business hours.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze real estate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for properties and portfolios
• Analyze property performance, budgets, forecasts, and financial variances
• Assist with accounting activities such as reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
• Maintain and review financial data within property management systems
• Support audits, lender reporting, and investor reporting as needed
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal controls
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role
• Strong experience with real estate financials and accounting
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, formulas)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central US Time

Qualifications

• Experience using Yardi or other property management systems (AppFolio, MRI, RealPage)
• Experience supporting real estate portfolios or asset management teams
• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
