As an Operations Analyst at Relm, you’ll play a key role in supporting our underwriting and operations teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellence across our processes. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to underwriters, with a strong focus on data quality and clearing backlogs (e.g., preparing quotes, binders, and policies).
Assist in resolving technical queries from brokers and internal departments (finance, risk, compliance, etc.).
Help maintain a stable, efficient operating model while contributing to ongoing process improvement and modernization initiatives.
Support accurate recording of transactions in the accounts workbook and internal systems.
Oversee data capture within underwriting platforms and loss modeling tools to ensure integrity and consistency.
Maintain up-to-date file documentation for all underwriting accounts in line with company standards.
Assist in invoice and payment management, tracking, and reconciliation.
Lead or support process improvement and change management projects as assigned.
Manage account clearance and KYC processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Participate in interim and year-end audits by preparing relevant documentation and reconciliations.
Ensure full compliance with company processes and controls.
Prepare ad-hoc internal and external reports as needed.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the broader operations and underwriting function.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Solid understanding of commercial insurance operations and underwriting workflows.
Strong interest in insurance operations and data-driven process improvement.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Analytical mindset with the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations and solve problems effectively.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results under time pressure.
Strong communication skills – able to convey information clearly and authentically, both in writing and verbally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, SUM).
Comfortable performing data analysis in Excel or Power BI.
Collaborative team player who works well across functions and levels.
Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive in driving outcomes.
Strong project management capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
Advantageous:
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/underwriting platforms.
Familiarity with insurance terminology, contracts, and compliance review.
Prior experience in data reconciliation, financial reporting, or systems administration within an insurance environment.
