Job Overview

Our client is looking for a right-hand estimating expert to join a successful Australian construction company experiencing tremendous growth. This role puts you at the center of diverse, interesting projects where your estimating skills directly impact business success. You’ll work closely with the Director of Building Services, taking ownership of the entire estimating process from takeoffs to client presentations, while helping streamline operations for a company that’s scaling rapidly.

• Full-time,8:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST (Brisbane) (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction and landscaping plans using Bluebeam and other industry software
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation across multiple project types
• Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and project details
• Prepare comprehensive estimates and professional proposals for client presentation
• Support project scoping through photo analysis and measurement interpretation when detailed plans aren’t available
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously across landscape maintenance, construction, and building renovation projects
• Collaborate directly with the Director and projects coordinator to ensure seamless project flow
• Handle diverse project types, including tree planning, vegetation work, and general building maintenance
• Deliver estimates that support $600-700K monthly revenue operations

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction or landscape estimating with strong takeoff skills
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings
• Advanced skills in Bluebeam or similar takeoff software
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and obtaining competitive pricing
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Bonus if you have quantity surveying credentials or formal estimating qualifications
• Experience with landscape or renovation projects is highly regarded

• This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
