Bookkeeper

This is a remote role & applicants will need to be based in the Philippines. The successful candidate will be contracted with Crafty Simon Inc., our Philippine-based entity.

This is a full-time remote role for a Bookkeeper. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing our Melbourne-based clients financial transactions, preparing and analysing financial statements, maintaining accurate records through bookkeeping, and ensuring the proper use of accounting software. The role also includes recording journal entries, monitoring financial data, and supporting finance-related operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate bookkeeping records
• Prepare and analyse financial statements
• Record and manage journal entries
• Monitor financial data and ensure accuracy in financial records
• Ensure proper use of accounting software and related financial tools
• Process invoices and manage accounts receivable
• Handle invoicing as part of day-to-day financial processes
• Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
• Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting system

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in preparing and analysing Financial Statements
• Strong skills in Bookkeeping and managing Journal Entries (Accounting)
• Experience with Accounting Software and related tools
• Understanding of Finance principles and practices
• Strong Excel skills, including use of formulas
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Effective communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an English medium school is a must
• 5 or more years of experience in Bookkeeping
• 3 or more years of experience working for Australian businesses and familiarity with GST and BAS processes

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working with Xero accounting software
• Professional certification such as CPA Australia or equivalent is a plus
