Melting - Shift In Charge

ATHARVA FOUNDRIES PVT. LTD.is a leading producer of high-quality S.G. Iron castings, committed to excellence in production, quality, and safety. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee our melting operations and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate all shift melting operations in the foundry, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
• Metal Quality Control: Manage furnace operations, including charge mix preparation (mild steel scrap, Fe-Si, etc.), temperature control, and the critical magnesium treatment process to achieve desired SG iron properties.
• Metallurgical Analysis: Monitor and control metal chemistry and quality, collaborating with the quality control team for testing (spectroscopy, hardness, tensile tests, microstructure analysis) and defect reduction.
• Safety & Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture, ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and manage the safe handling of molten metal and equipment.
• Process Improvement & Maintenance: Implement process improvements, assist in troubleshooting production issues, and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive upkeep of furnaces, ladles, and other equipment to minimize downtime.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production logs, melting records, and prepare shift reports for management review.
  
  

• Experience: Proven hands-on experience in S.G. Iron melting operations, preferably in an induction furnace environment. Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of foundry processes, metallurgy, casting defects, and quality control systems.
• Other: Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with ERP/MS Office, and a commitment to continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S).
