Area Credit Manager - Visakhapatnam

Job Summary**

The Area Credit Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the credit portfolio within the Visakhapatnam region, ensuring adherence to credit policies, minimizing risk, and supporting business growth objectives.

Job Responsibilities**

* Lead and manage the credit assessment and approval process for all loan applications within the Visakhapatnam area.
* Conduct thorough financial analysis of applicants, including evaluating creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and collateral.
* Ensure compliance with all internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and company procedures.
* Monitor portfolio quality, identify early warning signals of potential delinquencies, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
* Manage a team of credit officers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
* Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to achieve business targets while maintaining credit quality.
* Prepare and present credit reports and portfolio performance analysis to senior management.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve credit processes, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer experience.
* Conduct periodic field visits to assess market conditions and borrower profiles.
* Handle complex credit cases and make informed decisions within delegated authority.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CA, CFA) preferred.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within the financial services or banking sector.
* Strong understanding of credit appraisal techniques, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
* Proven track record of managing a significant credit portfolio with demonstrable success in maintaining asset quality.
* In-depth knowledge of local market dynamics and regulatory environment in Visakhapatnam.
* Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proficiency in relevant credit software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Ability to work independently and under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
