State And Local Tax Senior Manager

Position Profile

Weaver seeks a State and Local Tax (SALT) Senior Manager to join our team. Senior Managers in our State and Local Tax practice work on multiple complex tax engagements and lead the delivery of innovative tax planning ideas for our diverse clients. The SALT Senior Manager will be expected to be knowledgeable of tax law changes in various states and provide written communications on key issues and changes to the firm and its clients. Weaver’s Tax Senior Managers are responsible for developing the tax technical and client-facing skills of our Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA, CA, CMI, EA or JD
• 12+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on sales and use/indirect tax compliance and consulting
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff and managers
• Understands and implements process transitions
• Comprehend and communicate with the clients
• Experience in increasing efficiency and revenue for the cost centre
  
  

Additionally, The Following Qualifications Are Preferred

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong relationship management and practice development skills
• Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients
