Introduction

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to join our Gearbox and Drivetrain Technology team in the Grinding, Bulk, Pyro & Smelting Business Line. You will be responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy for couplings and accessories, leading innovation, and ensuring world-class performance in our drivetrain systems. Your role plays a crucial part in shaping the future of drivetrain technology and delivering sustainable solutions for our customers. In this position, you will report to the VP of Gearbox and Drivetrain Technology.

This position is preferably located in Finland, York (US) or Vadodara (India). We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Please note that occasional domestic and international travel might be required.

You will join a gearbox team that is passionate about developing Tier One solutions for our customers. We are a dedicated team developing drivetrain and gearbox technology for Metso equipment for the Services Business Area projects.

The members of our immediate team are located in Finland and India.

What You’ll Do

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for couplings and accessories.
• Lead design, analysis, and validation of coupling systems.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design and sustainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer projects and deliver technical expertise.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in drivetrain systems.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams to achieve technical excellence.
  
  
  

Who You Are

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in drivetrain systems, couplings, or power transmission.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, dynamics, and material science.
• Proven leadership experience in engineering teams and complex projects.
• Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools.
