The Lead Buyer – Auxiliary Procurement is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for Factory packages, ensuring cost competitiveness, timely delivery, quality compliance, and alignment with project and organizational objectives. The role requires strong commercial acumen, supplier management expertise, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, projects, quality, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
Work in close collaboration with global team to support L4G initiatives.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for BOP commodities for Steam Turbines I.e. Generator, Gearbox, Skids, Electrical Panels etc.
Leading the expediting, technical, quality & commercial clarifications with the suppliers and global procurement team.
Work with clear targets to achieve OTD and ScNCC targets.
Lead supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, and onboarding processes.
Conduct market analysis and cost benchmarking to ensure competitive sourcing.
Commercial & Contract Management
Lead techno-commercial evaluations and negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and contractual clauses.
Finalize purchase orders and contracts in line with company policies and delegated authority.
Manage contract amendments, claims, and dispute resolution related to suppliers.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with suppliers.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Mitigate supply risks through alternate sourcing strategies and contingency planning.
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering
Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, value engineering, localization, and long-term agreements.
Support standardization and specification optimization efforts in collaboration with engineering.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal and contractual requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit-ready records.

Cost savings and value realization
On-time delivery and supplier performance
Contract compliance and risk mitigation
Stakeholder satisfaction
Contribution to project schedule adherence
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferably Mechanical/Industrial/Production.
Experience Requirements
8 to 12 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain
Strong expertise in Casting and Forgings.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
Sound understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, cost modeling, and commercial evaluation skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects
Effective communication and leadership abilities
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or equivalent) and MS Excel
