Global Lead - Design Experience And Studio

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design leader to head our global Automotive Design organization focused on intelligent cockpit, HMI, UX/UI, and digital in-vehicle experiences.

This role will lead multidisciplinary teams across India and Europe, driving both customer-facing innovation and execution excellence for production automotive programs. The candidate will oversee global design capabilities, OEM customer engagements, and delivery of design assets for infotainment, clusters, HUD, ADAS, and connected cockpit platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership, automotive domain expertise, design thinking, and operational execution with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product management, and customer organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and grow a global design organization comprising:UX/UI Designers

HMI & Interaction Designers

Technical Artists

Visual/Graphic Designers

Manage distributed teams across Europe and India with responsibility for capability development, mentoring, hiring, and delivery excellence.

Drive design activities across:Digital Clusters

Infotainment Systems

HUDs

Information Displays

ADAS Interfaces

Intelligent Cockpit Platforms

Support all phases of product development including:

Innovation & Concept Development

RFQ/Pursuit Activities

Platform Definition

Customer Workshops

Production Program Execution through SOP

Act as a key design interface for global automotive OEM customers and strategic partners.

Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Innovation, and Program teams to align design priorities with business and customer goals.

Drive scalable design processes, design systems, asset quality, and operational efficiency across global programs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:Interaction Design

UX/UI

Industrial Design

Human Computer Interaction

Automotive Design

Engineering

or related field

15–20 years of experience in:Automotive UX/HMI

Intelligent Cockpit Systems

Automotive Electronics

Digital Product Design

Proven experience managing global or distributed design teams in automotive OEM, Tier-1, or EV environments.

Strong understanding of automotive product development lifecycle and production program execution.

Expertise in UX, interaction design, visual design, motion design, and multi-modal automotive experiences.

Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills.

Design Tools & Technical Skills

Hands-on or working knowledge of:

Figma

Adobe Creative Suite

Blender / Maya / Cinema4D

Unreal Engine

After Effects

Jira / Confluence

Design Systems & Component Libraries

Real-time visualization and HMI prototyping workflows

Knowledge of Android Automotive, embedded HMI platforms, and AI-driven UX experiences is a plus.
