Job Description

Purpose - The Assistant Manager of Accounts supports the organization's accounting, tax, treasury, and financial control functions by ensuring accurate financial reporting, audit compliance, and effective cash management. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for assisting with accounting operations, tax compliance, treasury activities, and the implementation of internal controls in a regulated generic pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities / Deliverables

The role is primarily responsible for financial reporting function and align with controller for the areas like tax, treasury and internal controls.

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Review accounting transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, including sales and use tax and corporate tax schedules.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory tax returns and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Support tax audits and assessments by maintaining accurate records and preparing required documentation.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and monitor tax payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support daily treasury activities, including cash positioning, bank account management, and payment processing.
  • Coordinate electronic payments, wire transfers, and banking transactions while ensuring proper authorization controls.
  • Assist in managing relationships with banking partners and resolving banking-related issues.
  • Participate in periodic reviews of financial processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in documenting accounting procedures and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting, treasury, and tax processes through automation and standardization.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience,
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with internal controls, compliance and audit coordination.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP

Additional Notes

  • The role needs to work as per the shift timings assigned for the Home Office team
