Job Description

Assess patient function through medical history reviews and physical or cognitive tests.

Create custom therapy goals to help patients relearn tasks like dressing, bathing, or cooking.

Recommend and teach the use of adaptive devices or mobility aids.

Inspect home or work spaces and suggest safety modifications.

Support vocational rehabilitation and a safe return to work.

Teach coping and functional cognition strategies for mental health or neurological challenges.

Educate family members and caregivers on proper support methods.

Record clinical notes, monitor progress, and coordinate with doctors or physical therapists

Requirements

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy

Valid state or national licensures/registration to practice as an occupational therapist.

Strong knowledge of adult rehabilitation, neurology, orthopedics, or mental health.

Excellent empathy, problem-solving, and communication skills.
