Controller

Our client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area is in need of an Interim Controller for a long-term contract position. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, ensuring the organization’s accounting practices adhere to established standards and regulations. This position will be fully on-site with some remote flexibility requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Oversee cash flow management to maintain organizational liquidity and financial stability.

• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and maintain compliance.

• Support audit preparation by organizing documentation and providing necessary insights.

• Supervise day-to-day accounting functions to ensure operational efficiency.

• Collaborate with leadership to analyze financial data and inform strategic decision-making.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting regulations and organizational policies.

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations.

• Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering growth and development with attention to detail.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

• Proven expertise in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards.

• Experience managing cash flow and forecasting financial needs.

• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
