JOB TITLE: Music/Theater Teacher (TK-8) Full Tlme

Job Purpose Statement/s: Under the supervision of the site administrator, provides standards-based music instruction for pupils in grades TK - 8th. Creates a classroom environment favorable to learning and professional growth. The Music/Theater Teacher will organize a schedule for, and work with classroom teachers in developing a classroom music and theater program; will organize and teach classes in instrumental and/or vocal music; will develop performing instrumental music and/or choral music ensembles and create theater productions. Establish effective rapport with pupils to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in music and theater.

• Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code.
• Abilities to stand and walk for prolonged periods, perform a variety of specialized tasks, maintain records, establish, and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedules and deadlines. Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth 5/24/24 Viama Dahag perception/accommodation/color vision/field of vision.
  
  

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Valid California teaching credential authorizing instruction in music with English Learner Authorization. Must pass pre-employment physical examination and fingerprint clearance. 5724/24Credential: Multiple Subject K-8 Teaching Credential with Supplemental credential in music and theater or Multiple subject K-8 Teaching Credential with verified years of experience in music and theater or Single Subject Music Credential and/or Single Subject Theater Credential CLAD or BCLAD or equivalent

Education: Bachelors degree or higher required

Credential:

• Multiple Subject K-8 Teaching Credentials with Supplemental credentials in music or
• Multiple subject K-8 Teaching Credentials with verified years of experience in music or
• Single Subject Music Credential and.or Single Subject Theater Credential
• CLAD or BCLAD or equivalent preferred Education:
• Bachelors degree or higher required
• Copy of Transcript
• Credential Copy
• English Learner Authorization (CLAD or BCLAD or Embedded EL Autorization)
• Letter of Introduction
• Letter(s) of Recommendation ((Three Minimum))
