The Material Handling CHP Engineer will be responsible for comprehensive oversight and management of the coal handling plant systems, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and adherence to project timelines. Key responsibilities include:
Planning and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize material handling layouts and systems tailored for thermal power projects, integrating the latest technology and industry best practices.
Project Execution: Lead the commissioning and startup of coal handling plant equipment including conveyors, crushers, stackers, reclaimers, and feeders, ensuring all systems meet design specifications and safety standards.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of material handling equipment, monitor performance indicators, and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers to guarantee timely delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to project scope.
Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Adani’s safety protocols and environmental policies, conduct regular safety audits, and promote a culture of zero harm among the team and contractors.
Cost and Resource Optimization: Monitor project budgets and resource allocation, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and operational standards.
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and control systems associated with CHP material handling equipment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records including maintenance logs, incident reports, and operational performance data, providing detailed reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth aligned with Adani’s values.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and technological upgrades to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of material handling systems.
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all material handling operations comply with national and local regulatory requirements, industry standards, and corporate policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
Certification Required
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.
Relevant certifications in material handling or thermal power plant operations (such as NPTI certifications) will be advantageous.
Safety certifications like NEBOSH or equivalent are highly desirable.
